Frequently asked questions
What is a “fillable PDF”?
A PDF created with form fields (AcroForm) — when you click it, you can type directly into boxes. Official forms from government sites, banks and HR departments are usually fillable.
My PDF has no form fields. Can I still use it?
Yes — use the “Add text” section to place text using the 9-position grid. For scanned documents you first need OCR to make the text selectable.
Is my document uploaded?
No. The PDF is parsed and rewritten in your browser. This matters for contracts, tax forms and ID documents.
What does “flatten” do?
It bakes the filled values into the page so nobody can change them afterwards. Tick it for final submissions; leave it unticked if you may need to edit later.
Can I fill Chinese text into a form?
It depends on the fonts embedded in the PDF. If the original form uses a font without your characters, the value cannot be rendered — the tool will tell you which fields failed.
